Squash update week 5

Hi All,

Couple of updates for everyone:

This week coming is the start of week 6 of the competitions. Reminder that there will be only 7 rounds this comp and then semi’s and GF on Thursday 30th August. The following week will be the commencement of the Spring Squash Competition. The format will change slightly. There will be 10 rounds and then semi’s/grand final. We will start coming around this week to see who are interested to plan in the next comp. If you know anyone who isn’t currently playing but would like to play next comp please let us know. This comp will take us up to the end of November.

Upon completion of the next competition we are planning to run a Club Championships over three weeks in December. Details of this are not finalised as of yet but will be advised soon. I know that it’s highly likely that there will be a Mens A & B grade (maybe more depending on numbers), a women’s competition and also a veterans division. Hopefully (fingers crossed) we can also have a junior division! Upon completion of the Club Championships (on the Thursday night) we plan to have a Christmas Cheer drink as well!

Don’t forget that Juniors Training is on tomorrow morning from 10am-12pm. If you have kids (or know of any) that are wanting to become more active, work on their hand eye coordination, play a weather friendly sport bring them down for a hit!

Tomorrow from 1-3pm will be Club Hitting for Members. Members $10 fee and non-members can joint for $15! I will be there from 1pm sharp! Also my sister (Alisha) will be coming across to have a hit from Bathurst. She’s an Orange junior and probably one of the better female squash players in regional NSW. Come down and show her what you’ve got!

One other piece of housekeeping- some members have noted they are having to score/umpire 2+ matches on comp night which isn’t fair. For people who aren’t currently scoring/umpiring please make the effort to do so. If you don’t know how to, ask you’re team number one (or other experienced team members) to give you a hand.

Look forward to seeing you there tomorrow.

Thanks

Glenn
